My parents 50th Wedding Anniversary is Sept. 17th and I gave them a surprise Dinner Party at The Pink House in Savannah, Ga. and it was so much fun. I actually gave the party on Sept. 13th and the staff there was absolutely great.
I was able to coordinate this event from California with the help of my daughter Whitney and it came together beautifully. The fact that it was meticulously orchestrated by the staff there made it quite easy, Bianca and Danielle were great. My daughter did the necessary leg work, since she lives in Savannah, making sure that the restaurant was what we wanted and making sure that the cake was ordered.
What made me happier than anything is that all of their friends showed up for their special day, and were there on time. When I brought them in, my father was smiling from ear to ear, and my mother started to cry. The fact that I was able to do this without my mother catching on and her friends were able to keep this secret was a feat in itself.
Mom, Dad, I thank you for all that you have done for me, for all that you have shown me by your example. I love more than you can ever know. You two have been my rock and I am forever grateful that God chose you two to guide my life.

“Over the course of the millennia, all these ancestors in your tree, generation upon generation, have come down to this moment in time—to give birth to you. There has never been, nor will ever be, another like you. You have been given a tremendous responsibility. You carry the hopes and dreams of all those who have gone before. Hopes and dreams for a better world. What will you do with your time on this Earth? How will you contribute to the ongoing story of humankind?” ~ Laurence Overmire
